Partial-Chip Systems – Stone Silicate

Our more budget-friendly floor coatings, the Deluxe and Premium, are known as “partial-chip” coating systems. They incorporate thermoplastic flakes, called polyvinyl acetate (PVC), which are spread in differing densities. Deluxe flake blends are broadcast in a medium spread, while Premium flake blends are broadcast in a heavy to extra-heavy spread. The Deluxe system, which lacks a clear coat, is a wallet-friendly coating suitable for large spaces (however, this flooring is unsuitable for garage installations).

On the other hand, the well-priced Premium system includes a single clear topcoat and can be installed almost anywhere. Moving on to our more advanced options, we have the stunning Diamond Effects and Stone Silicate coating systems. These are considered “next-level” partial chip coatings, similar to the Premium system but with one key difference. The flake blends used in these systems incorporate both PVC and mica stone. While the PVC chips add color and contrast, the mica flakes provide a reflective sparkle that is not achievable with thermoplastic-only flooring.
